This is one of those dumb threads you think up at 4 am at night...
How much hard drive space do you have, and how much have you used? Here's mine:

I'm a geek and like these things. I also plan on using 2 processors and 2 of the best video cards out at the time. Is there really any need? No, but I do it because I can. :P

My internal is 80 gigs with 17 left, my external is 80 with 57 left. I use the external for backing up files, but if I ever run out of space on my internal I'll use it as primary storage as well. But that won't be for awhile, I suppose, as my internal has some used space I can free up and I don't plan on adding a lot of music soon on account that I use a music service, and my external for video.
Necronomicon, I notice you have just 706MB free out of 225 gigs on one of your drives. Is it generally ok to fill an HD that close to max capacity? I've read it can cause performance problems and that at least 2 gigs should be left free, but I'm not so sure.
How much do you have used on C?

Nice cover, Klown. :smash:
Nah, I think I'll need more space in a year or two, also. It's just the way things seem to be going....
80 gig internal + 300 gig external
How does that perform for you? Do you use it on a daily basis? I have an external I only use for backing up right now, but I'm sure I'll be using it for primary storage sooner or later and have a few concerns. Does it function just like your internal so far as speed and effeciency, etc....

The external works great, I play all my music and videos off it and run my video game ISOs from it as well. No problems whatsoever. It can get pretty hot after a while, though, so I don't leave it on 24/7.
Obviously, it can't compare to an internal in terms of speed once you start looking at the really intensive tasks, like system backups, but for what I put mine through, I can't tell a difference between it and my internal.

The average season of a TV show takes up around 4Gb, and I have full runs of Seinfeld, Curb, AD, 24, Futurama and CSI on there. I also have around a dozen feature-length movies. So I have easily filled my 250Gb HDD, with another 80Gb HD packed full of system and program files.

On my gaming computer I have a 250 gig harddrive with about 150 left (I have about 20 games I think). On this computer the stock 80 gig is the only thing left that originally came with the Gateway pc from about 5 years ago. It has about 20 left.. the only thing that really takes up space on this computer is all the TV show seasons I download.

I would but I don't have a dvd burner, so I just watch em then delete them. I wouldn't really rewatch episodes anyway.

unless you want to set up a RAID array, there's no extra work involved in setting up two SATA hard drives. IDE is a different matter though. i think.
maybe someone can suggest a link or something that's explained thoroughly.
