Can anyone explain margin and threshold and how I can use them to my advantage?

I'm sure one of us could... if you gave us some context. It sounds almost like you're describing a compressor or similar processor, but without some detail, I'm unable to be sure enough to advise you.

It's on an EQ plug-in inside of ProTools LE.

Have a look in the help guide? or search for something like "pro tools tutorial" on google

Well thanks for doing anything but helping me. I've already searched google, and I don't need a ProTools tutorial. I asked a simple question, and if you don't have an answer, then you shouldn't reply.

I did have an answer...so I replied. Clearly a tutorial wouldnt go a-miss if you dont know what the particular functions do - even if you only skip to the part that focuses on the particular plug-in you want info about. How about a screenshot of the plugin? Margin, at a guess, would what is refered to as "Q" on an EQ. This is basically just the 'width' that the EQ band will cover. Threshold isnt a typical EQ function.. thats more associated with compression.

Like diesel said, "margin" and "threshold" are merely words with no context. Give us some detail and we may be able to help more.
