I know that me and Jom are not the only ones on mx that listen to The Barenaked Ladies (http://www.sputnikmusic.com/bands.php?bandid=485). Now that we have a pop rock forum we may as well have a thread dedicated to this group of amazing Canadian songwriters.
I have Rock Spectacle (http://www.sputnikmusic.com/album.php?albumid=759), Stune (http://www.sputnikmusic.com/album.php?albumid=3607), Maroon (http://www.sputnikmusic.com/album.php?albumid=2854), and Everything to Everyone (http://www.sputnikmusic.com/album.php?albumid=884). All of them are great, but Stunt and Rock Spectacle are my favorites.
Also, every BnL fan needs to check out Steven Page's side Project The Vanity Project (http://www.sputnikmusic.com/album.php?albumid=5257)
So what are your guy's favorite albums, and does anyone know about anything about the new album the band is working on?
Jom's write up on the band can be found here (http://www.musicianforums.com/forums/showthread.php?t=422251)

Woah new forum.
I love these guys. Saw them live on December 16th. I've been listening to them since I was eight-nine years old. Great pop rock.
I couldn't pick a favorite album, but my favorite songs are Be My Yoko Ono and Brian Wilson.

Haha, Be My Yoko Ono is my favorite song by them too.
I have Maroon, and I listen to it occasionally when I'm in the right mood. Unfortunatly I don't enjoy that album overall enough to go buy some more of their records.

Haha, very nice - Sputnikmusic links and attributing BNL loving!
You guys are more than welcome to read an article I wrote in R&M about them here (http://www.musicianforums.com/forums/showthread.php?t=422251), if you guys would like.
As for new material, I don't know, but I received an e-mail about this:

Yeah, I've been listening to these guys since I was a little kid, since their always played on the radio in Canada.
I like Brian Wilson, Pinch Me and Be my Yoko Ono the best.
The video for Pinch Me is pretty funny too. They have good videos.
I don't have any of their CDs, but I hear them on the radio and see them on TV performing alot and they are really catchy.

I never owned any of their CDs, but I listened to them a lot growing up. Really fun band.

123. I hear heaps of their stuff on the radio, and love it, but I've never actually bought an album.
I guess I should.

This is another one of those bands (along with Bloodhound Gang) that last.fm is 100% convinced I should love and keeps on playing despite my complete hatred for them. I don't know what it is, some bands just rub you up the wrong way.

I love The Barenaked Ladies.
I went to see them 2 years back when they played the Academy in Glasgow - they put on an amazing show and have a great connection with the audience. Hearing them live was just like listening to one of their cd's.

Barenaked Ladies = awesome.
One thing I like about their music is how you really hear through their playing how they seem to be having a great time doing it.

I've only heard "One Week", and whatever the follow-up single was. Doesn't really inspire me to check out more. But tell me a few other songs and I'll give 'em a go.

Being Canadian, of course I know these guys and hear them on the radio all the time. I don't own any albums, but I know all the singles and while they aren't mindblowing it is pleasant, fun music.

Maybe their older stuff would interest you, try
Brian Wilson
If I had 1000000
The Old Apartment
These Apples
What a Good Boy
If not their older stuff, than perhaps their newer stuff, too.
It's All Been Done, Some Fantastic, Falling for the First Time, Pinch Me, The Humour of the Situation, Too Little Too Late, Testing 1-2-3, and Aluminum are good picks.

I used to be in love with this band, and listening to them brings back a lot of memories. I've heard they're great live, and I'd love to see them, if not only for old times sake.

Alright! A thread for the Barenaked Ladies!
I have Disc 1: All Thier Greatest Hits, and Maroon. I don't listen to Maroon a whole lot, but the Greatest Hits CD is among one of my favorite CDs to listen to. I'd love to see them live.
NP: BNL - Brian Wilson (Live)

Sup, New Forum?
Lots of closet BNL fans in here. I have all of their stuff except Maroon, Rock Spectacle, and the Christmas album. Gordon is my favorite. And I may re-review MYSD if it hasn't been done yet.

That pretty much sums how I feel about BNL. Maroon is a pop masterpiece and deserves a lot more recognition than it gets.

I agree that is does get put down a bit too much.
In BnL news, my copy of Gordon (http://www.sputnikmusic.com/album.php?albumid=4117) came in today. Now I only need Born on a Pirate Ship (http://www.sputnikmusic.com/album.php?albumid=4125), Maybe You Should Drive (http://www.sputnikmusic.com/album.php?albumid=4160), and Barenaked for the Holidays (http://www.sputnikmusic.com/album.php?albumid=1154).
I like the song One Week, but its basically all I've heard, but will check out some more of them later.
Hey, KOD, where do you live in MS?
