Alright ive got the option of buying either of these.

http://www.yamaha-europe.com/picture_archiv/products/10_Musical_instruments/drums/hardware/foot_pedals/dfp9410_medium_jpg.jpg

or

http://www.thomann.de/prodbilder/dw_5002td3_double_pedal_pimx_160854.jpg

The DW is the turbo cam system, not the offset accelerator.

Give me your opinions on both, price is not an issue as they're the same price

Oh I don't know.. Im confused on the single versions of them two.. This will help as well... Uhh...Yeah

why direct?

Cause the 5002 would tear the chain version to shreds in terms of smoothness

Personally, I'd go for the DWs.
Nice choice on the Turbo, I've never liked the offset cam.

Although, your best bet would be to try them out, because direct drive isn't for everyone.

The yammie adjusts alot more and has a really coll tool that comes with it

i have tryed yamaha direct and chain but the dw only the chain.

yamaha direct - 3
yamaha chain - 9
dw chain - 9

so i would choose the yamaha chain version, because it seems sturdyer than the dw to me. But i have no idea how the dw direct drive feels, so...

wait a minute. does the dw 5002 even have a direct drive?

f u c k i'm a complete knob!

No DW dont have a direct drive system. The yammie only comes in a bag, DW has a molded case.

Dunno what kinda cam the yammie has? But im deciding between the 2 i mentioned :)

Yamaha is amazing.

My HS-1100 highhat stand is the smoothest piece of equiptment i have ever played in terms of pedals/highhat stands.
The linkage is fantastic.

Yeah good call.
I can honestly say that the Yamaha Chain Drive Pedal was the greatest pedal I have played, very smooth and I found it fast and I felt very capable on it.
I can only imagine how the direct drive would feel.

I'll check their return policy. If i can trade it for a DW if i dont like it i'll do it :)

I always wanted to try a direct drive system, plus i like felt beaters

are you shopping from thomann by any chance?

lol I suppose, Basicaly I mean to say that I beleive the DW to be highier quality. I found I had more control over them than the Yammys but I suppose at the end of the day it depends on personal preferance.

buy the ****ing dragons, now, i command you, the tool pwns, one end is a drum key the other end is an allen wrench for adjusting and configuring parts of the pedal, i tried the 5002 and the dragons at GC when i got mine. double chain yammies FTW!

those are both great, but they both do have ups and downs, direct drive does feel at bit weird, and isn't for everyone, which is why ppl recommend to try Axis pedals before u buy them, because they are direct drive, that being said, light pedals like direct drives are good for playin' faster. i personally would go yammie, but again, either way u won't be disapointed

Phil I have tried both (I know, I happen to try so much **** out). Don't take in fact that I am a Yamaha whore.

The DW 5000's are super smooth and have molded case. Not only that but they do look damn sweet and are very adjustable.

The Yammies are also super smooth and adjustable. They glow in the dark and have a sweet tool as mentioned above. The bag sucks though but that's not the point. The pedal turns into pedals in a matter of minutes.

My say is go for what suites you. On the other hand I'm the Yamaha whore and I love these pedals.

BTW the chain version has very smooth offset cam action.

Why many some of you say ''go for the dw" without having used a Yamaha pedal?
Who says that it is not durable.I haven't lubricated my pedal for two years and it is as smooth as the first day.Any problems at all, except some scratches due to transportation.
I have the double chain chain model and this feels like an extension of my feet.
I don't know about the direct drive though.
Go for the yamaha

By the way, I want to buy new footboards cause my entire set seems new and shinny except for my pedalboards that look like they are 10 years old.
A lot of marks.that can't be removed-I have tried anything.
Do you know where I can find only the footboards?

Can anyone find out how much are they going to cost.
It's about 2 footboards (and the heel plates) for Yamaha DFP 9310 as well as a footboard and a heel plate for my Yamaha HS 1000.
The nearest Yamaha dealer is 30km away and the assistant who works there is a dumb, it will take an hour to explain to him what I need, and then he will say "why do you want to replace them? let them dirty"....
Thanks for any help

Just tell him you need clean footboards to play faster than 14bps!
