ok, u can try it, it's really cool. A nice old saw blade. Gives a different ring. Almost like a train bell. If u know a carpenter, or have access to a bunch of used saw blades, test them out. I use a blade on my drumset where our band practices at. It's cool, and I thot I should share the wealth to all of u. Of course the only down about it is that it's sharp... haha:smash: obviously. But yeah, try it, and give me ur thots. A nice one is usually a 10" one or so, maby bigger, but the small ones arn't quite loud enough. Get one without carbide tips, and without a sticker on it(newer ones come with a sticker that deadens the sound). oh and thick, like thickest one u can get... say 1/8"... that's pretty thick if u can get it that thick. yeah, try it.

Yup. Give it a good swipe and it'll whirl for you too. There's perhaps 10 or so people on this forum that use sawblades.. myself included.

Yeah, several people here use saw blades.
I've always wanted a sawblade but I've always been afraid of not thinking and choking it, or my cymbal stand failing and it messing up my finish. Didn't that happen to poppinfresh?

Or if you tell everybody that you are going to do it with no intention of actually doing it, just so they will think your troubled

No you can't actually kcut yourself, because EMOs are all fakes, if they cut them selves then they might actually have something to bitch about lol

Why don't you cut off the edges, so you can choke it.

Could you mount them on an ordinary percussion bracket? I'm a bit of a hardware noob and I cant see how you would hold the blade in place without using a hihat clutch or something

Cutting high-speed steel= will never happen. Might affect the sound anyway.
They can easily be mounted on a cymbal stand/arm, exactly as a cymbal would be.

Thats stereo typing, and a n00b typing as well i do believe.
If someone does what you describe they are a punk popper, if someone goes out of thier way to be different to someone else doesn't want to fit in and doesn't give a toss what you think thats punk. Todays kids who call themself punks aren't punks, they're punk poppers. It's completely different.
And i'll add punks hate emos as they go out of their way to look like clones, the music is similar its just not a good thing so no punks don't care about emos.

Ahem, punk and emo are not similar, though they come from common roots.
I dont like either that much, but i just wanted to clarify that they are NOT the same. Each genre has differing characteristics.

yes, I was wrong, I was actually reffering to the many many poser punks who for example: worry about using a certain drum piece because people would think he was emo, but really he thinks he's not... That was my point, sorry "real" punks for that remark.... So yes, I was meaning "punk poppers"

Sorry that is no attempt at sarcasm... But if u want it to be than it is, mister I spend my life on a computer and talk like i'm king sh!t on the internet, because no one here actually knows u and u can easily pose as someone else on here.... Yeah, I know there are many drummers that have been playing longer than me... I didn't state that u a$$, I was just pointing out that I am not farmiliar with the people in this forum and had no idea that people actually used saw blades, because I had never ever seen one! Now go play some drums, instead of (i quote)" sitting around on these boards"... jacka$$
