Hey you guys , anyone of you have some experience with caixas? i thought about buying a 12" one , to use it as some kind of aux.snare or piccolo-snare.
What do you think?Would it serve well as an aux. snare?

The word Caixa (pronounced ka-sha) simply means box in Portuguese. In musical terms the Caixa is a Brazilian snare drum which may have originally been a Portuguese military snare drum and is made of lightweight Aluminum.
I would say that would a good auxiliary snare drum. It's great for rim shots as well.

ohhh aluminum! I'd love to see one of those with a duller, unfinished shell. with matching hardware. that'd be hot.
