ok guys, i made a thread a while ago about making a guitar. i can't find it now, so i've decided to clog your forum up with another thread, apologies to the moderators and such.

i'm making the guitar out of ash and silky oak, with a neck-through design, and several strips of timber. two DiMarzio air norton humbucking pickups, and a double cutaway body shape. should be good.

and as a sign of my goodwill, i'll be putting piccies up every few days showin my progress (or lack thereof) so you can ridicule, mock, question, and even compliment depending on whether you hate me or not.

why are the pictures so big?

guitar looks sweet by the way, in the third picture it looks like it has racing stripes, so i suggest racing stripes would make a hella cool paint job

it's a woodgrain finish dude, no paintjob. it'll look like racing stripes anyway, because i'm using a reddish timber to contrast it with. i'll put some more pics up of it next week.

ps: how do you make the piccies smaller?

that style of guitar is one i would ascosiate with the post rock group "godspeed you! black emperor".

oh right. koolies. that sketch up the top makes it look more chunky than it really is, the body is not that wide, and the trebleside cutaway isn't that long, it's just a helluvalong way back.

What kind of music you play?

i play.. not much.

i play mainly rock, and new rock and punk and stuff. mainstream, y'know. stuff like the living end, the clash, wolfmother, greenday, sum 41, offspring. you know the type. and as such people hate me because i like easy listening music rather than metal. at school there are two main types of people: 'omg, lyk, simple plan r so hardcore', and 'anything lighter than cradle of filth is not music. i killed my dad, yeah'. so i'm kinda stuck in the middle... it sucks.
