hi everyone

i played bass for like 12 years and just now realized it wasnt for me. im trying to learn guitar but my time is limited so im basically a bass players level playing on a guitar. my real goal for a band would be albe to sing though. i used to write ALOT of songs for my bands and really enjoyed it but hated seeing someone else sing them and just intuitiveley get credit for seomthing they didnt really do just cause its coming form them.

is it possible to build a voice up. my voice ,be it i can hold basic notes and know when im way out, is just annoying to listen to. i sound very nasaly and whiny. kind of like erkel. plus i get soar throats constantly when i practice and i dont sing heavy. basically can i learn to naturally sound differant or am i basically stuck as a bass player until i can learn to play guitar good enough. i just quit my band and have lost almost all interest in music because i DONT want to play bass again.

Both of those links go to threads that may be helpful to you, if they're not, I can look for something else. Good luck.

Was there any specific reason or reasons for you wanting to stop playing bass? And how old are you? Just wondering, you know.

it sounds vein but no appreciation. like i said i would write alot of the songs and everyone just thinks the guitarist and singer would have because they were "the talent". and if they said i wrote them people either didnt believe or would just ignore the fact all together and find something else to keep talking to them. the bass is a lonely usually unagknowledged existence and i want a bit more out of my hard earned effort and time.

also i am 26
