This was my friend's set... Well, half was his. Part was his dad's, I think. He wasn't that good at drumming... lol... But it was a pretty sweet set
I don't know all of the brands, but I think the set itself was Pearl, most if not all of the cymbals were Zildjian...
I don't know the measurements, but [I think] it had
1 Snare
4 rack toms
3 floor toms
Bass w/ double pedal
Hihats
Three crashes (but one was a hihat top)
1 ride
Three Chinas
1 Splash
1 cowbell

I always thought it was sweet... But a good drummer can make use of a smaller set.

hum. very old pearls. The cymbals look like Zildjian Zbts. Id get new ones if possible. That sure is a lot of drums. If you feel like you need all of them to get the job done, then use em. Im used to playing with 1 tom and 2 floor toms so its all personal.
also, if you move some of the toms/floor toms to make you have a smoother ride around your kit that might help too.

I agree, I'm not a big fan of that set. There's almost nothing of exceptional quality on it (except for the Iron Cobras). Let me guess, metal band?

I dont get it? Why all the hate? I mean, because its not Brand X or the "Hi End", cant a not so good properly tuned kit sound good? Or is it all about the best & the best ONLY? And I am just ASKING here so dont gang up on me.

Tom Angle (tom number 4), Cymbals, Low End Pearl most likely= Major Suckage. Wrap =Suckage to the Maxorz.

But still a bad kit like that can sound decent with some good heads and good tuning. I know what im talking about too...I had a freakin first act from walmart and made it sound pretty good.

7 toms...I don't understand the logic behind it honostly.

The logic is that you will posess the ablility to play a larger number of notes, creating more complex as well as more melodic drum notes i.e. Neil Peart, Terry Bozzio
Do you understand now?

I think its just Tom envy

After a couple of adjustments it'd be fun to play. I'd probably move the last, unreachable floor tom to the left of the kit as well.

I like it... not big on the ZBT's but I still like it.
His tom angles aren't bad... you're just nitpicking.

My sone needs this for a farwell dance he was asked to play at.
If someone has or knows where I can get this please let me know.

Ive seen Bozzios massive set but I havent actually seen him use the set in a good solo or anything.
Do you have any links to a good video (or audio if theres no video) of him playing something with all those toms?

Bozzio isn't the kind of drummer you think he is...he plays melodically.
Drums aren't meant to be a melodic instrument. They are rhythmic. But Bozzio has his drums in such a way that they are all tuned to certain notes...

I hate it, if I owned it, I would sell some of the toms and get some decent cymbals instead.

I know...
the only thing I can recall of bozzio is that video on drummerworld in which he plays very rythmically.

drums are meant to be whatever you want them to be that expresses you. be it melodic or rhythmic, or both.

the difference between bozzio and you is that he has signature cymbals so he has EXACTLY what he wants already...

Ha I'm just a bassist... I wondered what you guys thought about the set. He used to be our drummer, for our punk/rock band... He barely used all of that set. It was just showy. And damn fun to play. I mean, the possibilities seemed endless... But most of it wasn't necessary. But yea one of his favorite drummers was Bozzio. I don't really know how good any of it was but it got the job done. It helps to actually be able to play though. Well at least, in my case.
Our current drummer has a nice Pearl set, I think 5 or 6 piece with like 2 crashes, a china, 2 splashes, a ride, a snare, bass/double pedal, and hats. More than needed but definitely enough.
EDIT-
If you go to our myspace- www.myspace.com/intentionalchaos
We have one song on it, and it was recorded with that set... In that basement... lol
It was from the end of 2004 though... Soon after we started the band

yea... he wasn't even that good. but use being like 13 or 14 at the time, we're all like "oh that set is amazing its got all those drums and its so big and its just sweet"
now its like "how stupid was i? that thing is huge and useless"

Everything is soOoOoOo spread out. You gotta squish it in IMO. Also some of the hardware looks pretty old and bad.
