what's up whores,

as you may already know, Adam Barthel has left SI6KS due to creative differances.

I will be the first to tell you THE CD RELEASE SHOW IS GOING ON COME HELL OR HIGH WATER, we will either find a fill-in replacement for the upcoming shows or play with one guitarist. An update on that will be given soon.

As you may know we will be gearing for another guitarist and all interested parties should read this and contact us ASAP

*criteria*

EXPERIENCE: seasoned is preferable, we rock the stage hard and we're only as good as our weakest member, so if you don't move around and get into it, it makes us all look like that. we also prefer someone with studio experience but it's not necessary at all

DEDICATION: we have a strenuous practice and show schedule (2-3 days a week practice and anywhere from 2-8 shows per month). we demand a lot of time so if you're not prepared to sacrifice your time then please don't tell us you will and down the road not, that makes jack a dull boy.

That also means that alcohol, drugs and slightly confuzzled sea lion (or dick if you happen to be a female guitarist) are a very distant 2nd, 3rd and/or 4th. nothing is worse than a band member with drugs/beer/slightly confuzzled sea lion on the mind at practice and shows. we're not against those, but we are against them when they hinder the band's progress. active drug addicts need not apply.

RESPONSIBILITY: being in a band is like a job, you show up to your job late you get into **** or worse, you get fired. you do you job poorly...so on and so forth. we are friends/brothers/bandmates but we are also self-employed in a business and we expect a like minded individual who sees that we are a business and in order to make it we need to sell ourselves (WARNING: here come the music purists to pee on our faces for our insolence)

personal responsibility; if you can't manage your checkbook, or manage to keep enough money in it to pay your rehearsal space rent and keep your gear up to par then please don't weigh down the rest of the band with that. if you have problems with money/drugs/alcohol/relationships, let us know, we're not going to look down on you for it, but it is a liability we're not willing to deal with at this point

SKILLS: we aren't dream theater, but we aren't crusty punk either. this is something that can be determined more as we audition but we would ask that you be an ACTIVE writing musician. Your influences don't matter as much as if you're happy playing what you are playing and are capable of working with another guitar player.

if you like metal, whether it's black metal or nu-metal, if you are capable of playing what we have and are happy playing it, by all means we will be open to you and your musical ideas, being in a band is all about diverse musicial ideas coming together to make something new so we are down with that.

*if some of this sounds egotistical, spatula like in any way I'm sorry, but we aren't ****ing around and we're sick of members leaving for problems that we described above so we decided to post exactly what we want how we want it.
