Does anyone know any good instructional DVDs on metal drumming. Mainly Double bass speed/technique, and just over all metal drumming? I already own the Bobby Jarzombek, and Thomas Lang.
thanks:thumb:

Extreme Metal Drumming 101 by Flo Mounier of Cryptopsy... I haven't seen the DVD, but I've heard good things, and Flo is possibly the most talented heavy metal drummer... Not to mention his jazz skills too

Highly recommended :chug:

Flo is intense, from what I hear.

You should go to www.derekroddy.com and ask there. Derek's instructional vid never came out (V_V) so he's basically ok'd everyone just finding copies of it online. And if you ask there, there's a crapload of metalheads that can answer.

Jason Bittner of Shadows Fall and Chris Adler of Lamb Of God have a dual dvd coming out on 4/4/06. Has their performances from the Modern Drummer Festival last year plus some individual instruction stuff. Should be pretty rad

Like they said...Flo's and Derek's. From what I know, Flo's is much better and more informative.

Derek is more about just straight blasting speed... or shoud I say blistering speed

Flo is actually a very accomplished jazz musician, and he even works some jazzy stuff into his death metal

Overall, I think Flo's DVD will probably be a lot more informative :thumb:

like 2 weeks ago Flo Mounier was at a long & mcquade in my town and i got to watch some of his performance. he played really well, and his double bass work was impressive, definately not sloppy. he was also talking and taking questions but i couldnt hear anything because i came pretty late, and the place was packed.

but from what i saw he is really tight, and his dvd is worth checking out.

i have the flo mounier dvd and it is a great purchase.

it has about two and a half hours of him soloing, and the intructionnal part explains the double bass extremely well

also his one handed, 180 bpm, 16th note blasts are insane

I took your advice and i bought it today. Its pretty good, although not what i was expecting. I was expecting a bit more, but its still pretty good.

I might also add that it was freaking $80 Aus:angry: . The guy said that they wont be getting anymore in because it was soo expensive, so i got it, because there wouldnt be any other way i could.
