I've been playing bass for about a year now and was looking for a bass I could use without plugging in! Let me know what you think

Think about what? What kind of acoustic bass? Whether or not it's a good idea for you to get one?

If you're seriously looking into getting one, check out Michael Kelly. They're pretty much the best acoustic bass out there from what I understand.

I played a cort one, it was nice and cheep. Not the best sounding but if you are looking for something cheep look into those.

wow, surprised you didn't suggest getting an Ibanez.

I also won't suggest getting an acoustic ibanez bass though. I have one, and I pretty much hate it.

123, Michael Kelly makes good acoustic stuff. They look gorgeous, too. The Dragonfly is awesome.

I only suggest Ibanez stuff that I have played, I have never even seen an Ibanez acustic bass.

I love Michael Kelly and I own one, but by far the best acoustic bass is Washburn's. That thing is sexy.

Still, the Dragonfly is great, I love it.

played an ibanez one i must say i prefered the cort that was there to the ibanez, but by far the washburn beat both of them when i played it about a month later

Do you think Michael Kelly would ship to Australia?

I found a place in aus that sold them. I forgot though now :(

BTW if I weren't using it for recording/live I'd just get a standard EADGBE acoustic guitar. You can still play basslines (with a bit of technique adjustment) and also write songs.

is acoustic bas the one that just looks like a acoustic guiter restrung with bass string?

I played a Martin acoustic bass once, and it was the nicest sounding acoustic bass ever. Great bottom end.
