a picture of the back shows that i needed to use ferrules instead of a plate to bolt the neck on, i also need to trim and finish the mortise there so ignore the extra wood/uglyness. you can also see the knobs and electronics compartment.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
alright so today i actually had my wisdom teeth removed and currently cant feel my tongue or lips. my mouth is full of bloody gauze and im on tylenol 3's
but, im feeling better than i expected and have an excuse not to go to work.
soo i have lots more time to work on this beast!

what i have left is:

Fix action by shimming mortise
Clean up mortise
Route pickup cavities
Drill channels for wires
Sheild all electronic compartmets with special paint
Final sand
Mask off fretboard, mortise and cavities
Get this beast prepped and painted
Wire pickups, ground, ect..
Put on strings and set antonation action etc.
Play it at the battle of the bands

The list may seem long but it isnt, i can get most of it done in one good day.
ill keep you all posted

now lets hear some feedback!

That upper fret access is going to be orgasmic! I think you should fix the neck on the body a bit, keep it heel-less.

Looks like a cool project. :thumb:

Whoah thats gonna be a beast of a bass. What pick up config are you gonna have?

I have all materials and tools to make a bass, but I need to get some plans drew up and make them to scale 1:1. Would it be okay for you to up load and plans you used to make this bass? I have some books on it Including the book by Melvyn Hiscock and it was really help full. Neck looks tricky to make but Ill use my first basses neck for that I think. Also, when you have finished. could you do a step by step guide in how you route and wiring up the pickups cavities?

Its looking really impressive!

Maybe a dark crimson color, rather than black. Don't listen to us though, do what you like with your super nice bass.

Realllllllllllly dark blue is a nice choice! But no black :thumb: That looks way too cheap for such a cool bass.

Very nice.

I think a dark blue with silver or grey flake would be so hot.

It's coming on in leaps and bounds. The fret access is awesome. I just love the fact that you'll be playing pop-punk on it.

alright so these all all good ideas but i must fill you in on the paint situation
my neighbours dad is a mechanic and hes gonna hook me up with a auto paint dude. the deal with this is that the guy will get in say a black camaro to be painted. everytime he does a coat on the car, hell do one on my bass. its so easy this way and itll be cheaper. if i get into a more custom color, the chances of a car wanting the same color is slim. ill find out tho.. i really would like the dark blue.

Just as a suggestion on the paint job.

I think that would look really nice with a nice dark stain instead of a paint finish.

Loving that upper fret access. You gotta fix the neck and/or bridge though. It looks a bit off. The E string looks like its close to the edge of the neck and the G string looks likes it too far away from the edge of the fretboard. I hope I made sense.

yeah, ive got a bunch of experience. actually the muskoka chair that the bass is resting on was made by me. ive made a bunch of things but this is my first bass, probably not my last.

yeah your right, but the good thing about the badass bridge is that its unslotted so i can still shift the strings over and slot it where the strings are straighter

awesome supernaut. i might consider that:naughty:

Go for a metalic burgundy with the flake effect in it so that it shimmers......

Otherwise, it is looking hell of a good, great work man.
