What does everyone think of whoever it is that drums in that band? My friend (metalhead) who plays guitar (and also thinks that he can play drums) believes he is the greatest drummer ever. I don't really even like the band at all, but from what I've heard of them, the drumming isn't really anything special at all. Its just speed I guess and thats all that he thinks matters in drumming. But I could be wrong, though I don't even know the drummer's name so he can't be that great. I got into an argument with him, I said I looked up to Jason Bittner as a metal drummer, because he uses a lot of technique, which I don't see in a lot of metal. So what does everyone else think of this guy?

Yes, I dislike their music and the drumming is boring.

I just don't see what the big deal is about him. All I hear are the same blast-beats over and over. I figured if I never heard his name before, its probably for a good reason.

idk, they're on their 3rd drummer as a band.
I do like their music, but the drumming is basically all the same, it's not even death metal fast super blasting, it's just basically the same.

Jason Bittner is a god among men as far as drumming goes, he reminds me of the greats like Ulrich and Lombardo, and he can play some of the sickest stuff ever but makes it look so easy, i want to kill him and absorb his powers!

Heh, I've never heard Lars referred to as a "great".

Yeah. But Lars sometimes had some nice stuff. Metallica was one of the first bands I got into, and Lars was the first drummer.

he's solid with those blast beats and etc.

and yeah i had a friend aske me who plays guitar saying: "can you play like TBDM", and i said "yeah i can play that stuff".
he finished saying..."your god"
which i laughed at the thought of being god of drumming. hehe

Seen them live... Jason plays accurately, and fast- but without much of a show. Mike Mangini however, is absolutely great.

BTW- at the concert, they had the Black Dahlia Murder beach party theme going with interludes of surf rock. Its was a good show overall!
