What companies make 7 string pickups except Bartolini? I'm expecting not many. Affordable ones please, no "Well X company make them for £800 each". If there aren't any, then that's slightly poo. If there are? Awesome.
:smash:
Does'nt Bartilloni make them too?

as you said, Bartolini will, but I think they only make pickups for more than 6 strings on a limited run basis, and would likely be quite expensive. Carey Nordstrand would likely be able to do it, but once again... limited run.... lots of cash.
Basically, look at any custom luthier that builds their own pickups and you'll have your most likely avenue. Ritter, Nordstrand, Dingwall (not sure if Sheldon builds his own pickups though), etc. etc. etc.
I think it's safe to say any 7 string pickups will be very expensive.

Dingwall (not sure if Sheldon builds his own pickups though)
I believe he does now. Well, he co-produces them with Fury.

tbh, I dont think its worth even bothering to upgrade them, the ones on the BD series are killer to begin, nice an crisp.
Crisp, clean tone ftw, and if you are just ordering them from some random luthier you, will probably wont be able to hear them first, and they could be a bit low definition. Just keep your hi fi BD pups. No one wants a farty tone!

That kinda blows up when you consider the fact he's looking for a cheap option.

Or Dave (it's Dave, isn't it?), you could just trust my opinion on what the pups are like. You know, the guy who owns and plays the bass daily.
I can make do fine with the tone they have, I was just looking into possibilities for a bit of variety and a crunchier tone that suits me better.

Was it worth giving this thread a bump just to say that, after it had no posts in nearly 24 hours?

Was it worth bumping it again to ask me that? And was it worth it for me to bump it yet again? Its a vicious cycle....

Bought it second hand from a bloke in Essex. Keep checking the used market, I don't think they make the GT series anymore?

you could buy 4 jazz pickups and have one string double pickupped..

Wouldn't that make that one string twice as loud as the others?
