now this is a question i've been thinking about, do we as punks have to be all dark, what about being like "yeah were not going ot take it anymore, alright!!" type music, sorta like the old yellow card, when they had ben dobson, and not that wimpy ryan dude (yeah I was into their only good cd where we stand)
or do we have to be like anti flag, not saying thats a bad thing, hell we might change the world if we were like them.
or do we be what we want to be, and do what we like?
I mean we still have to keep our persona "**** the world".
I say we lay down some ground rules, one rule per person that post one.

The Overtones say "we are a series of frequencies that are higher than the fundamental tone!"

Music without ideals is just noise. So go sing about yourself somewhere else, like most other music.

Here are a few definitions:
1. A conception of something in its absolute perfection.
2. One that is regarded as a standard or model of perfection or excellence.
3. An ultimate object of endeavor; a goal.
4. An honorable or worthy principle or aim.

That doesn't have to be dark and political though. That doesn't even have to be an artistic ideal. Your ideal could be making lots of money through crappy pop music.

Obviously that is the number one rule. It says so right in the official punk handbook. You can buy one at your local Wal-mart.

Do you think that yellow card have ever had a "yeah were not going ot take it anymore, alright!!" sort of attitude in their music? If so, i certainly haven't heard it.

Punk gigs have to be dark. I hate gigs where they leave the light on.
