Anything by Mitch Mitchell (Hendrix's drummer)

Fire, Hey Joe, Manic Depression, etc.

Anything by Keith Moon (The Who)

...I don't even know where to start. Heaven and Hell, Young Man Blues, Who Are You, etc.

The Outsider by A Perfect Circle is really fun to play. It has some hard stuff in it but you asked for it.

I totally agree...I love that song, actually I love APC, and I love Freese!

I completely agree. I love playing Otherside from Californication. Chop Suey by System of a Down is another really fun one to play, as well as The Quiet Place by In Flames (the parts themselves aren't too tough, but the fills are cool). Try Everlong by the Foo Fighters, Starseed by Our Lady Peace and Megalomaniac by Incubus too.

Classic Rush: Tom Sawyer, Subdivisions, New World Man, etc
Zeppelin: Good TImes Bad Times, In My Time of Dying (heel toe needed for these which I cannot do). Other Zeppelin of course
I was also going to mention RHCP like some others did

Funny you mention Halen - one of my favorite bands growing up but I hate drumming along to their songs. Alex is a good drummer and all but has a style that is just different and not fun to play in IMO. Riding the crash through like 90% of their songs is just stupid IMO.

Any Incubus, Mudvayne, Dave Matthews Band, Qotsa, Smashing P's

All great to rock out to, but nothing beats ORIGINALS!!

I doubt you could do something like Muzzle after 1 and a half years, quite a few pumpkin songs are hard to play.

All songs by coheed and cambria (josh eppard) are fun to play but probably too advanced. RAge against the machine (brad wilk) is pretty fun...

AC/DC - BACK IN BLACK!!!!!

No but seriously my band did a cover of "The Ocean" by Zeppelin, and that was some of the most fun I had whilst doing a cover.

damn....no fair, I stepped away from the computer to make rice! :)

I've been playing for ~14 months, and I'm only now getting into playing some RHCP. not much of it is too hard to play without a bit of practice, and it's TONS of fun to play.

heh, I haven't actually played along with it or anything yet, but I bet I could hold my own.

But I know what you mean, I watch the Isle of Wight video, and during that song I'm like  Keith Moon was a god on drums.

I used to like to play along with it, but then I realized that I'm about 1/100 as fast as he was.

Live at Leeds and IOW are great though. I always say that you've never heard Moon until you've heard him play live.

i know, those long fills he does in the beginning between Roger's vocals are fricken awesome, and then the actual groove and stuff is pretty fast as well.

I'd like to add Toxicity to that as well. Toxicity is HELLA fun to play.

Also, give "Up in Arms" and "Monkey Wrench" by the Foo Fighters, or anything off the first Foo album a go. Dave's got some cool stuff on both TATC and "self-titled."

Got you.

I like playing to 'The Everlasting Glaze', but still have issues towards to end, trying to play off beat and getting the bit on the hats.

No worries man. Alot of the stuff I mentioned is now easy as pie for me. Everlasting Gaze is a fun tune, especially the unison guitar/drum solo section.

OH YEYE TOXICITY that's a fun song to play..
I also suggest........dream theater
I tried Stream of Conciousness, I couldn't get the energy to learn all of it. Tabs are too confusing to read cuz I'm used to reading standard notation tablature..

Improvising over tracks > learning songs from tab :smash:

You could try some Mettalica or try Mudvayne's World so Cold or Not Falling.

Also look into Avenged Sevenfold, Bat Country a good song to play to.

havent listened in a while, does it get much harder than the initial groove?
for some tougher zepp try Moby Dick, but its probably too tough.

The whole song is pretty much a solo. Do people even try to duplicate Bonham?

Star-The Roots
Pungee-The Meters
People Say-The Meters
The Seed- The Roots
The Next Movement- The Roots
Californiacation-RHCP
Don't Look Back In Anger-Oasis
Wonderwall-Oasis
