Muses or music news? If most of you would prefer muses, I will move the news box back to the right hand column on the main page, and put a featured muse image in the current news space. But if you like news, I will leave it as it is.

News is more important, and with the way things are working and the small amount of people who contribute to it, it would (in my opinion) be a bad move to deemphasise it. We need to get more people using the feature, not less (including me, I think I've done maybe two news items). Or maybe there just isn't any exciting music news these days. v:)v

I think muses/journals are much more importent. News is a good thing to have on the side, but the free writing abilities the site offer really stress that this is a user-run where people can interact with each other.

I'll try to submit more news, as I think it's more important, but I got discouraged before because that crafty Plath beat me to every article a while back, leaving me with that whole Pumpkin thing.

News is far more important. Muses are great, but should not take precedence over news.

Although it's really hard to get people to stop posting rumors and passing them off as facts :(

While musings are interesting and entertaining to read I think that news is far more important. I haven't contributed to the news section in a while, i'll probably start again soon.

News is probably more important but it's much less rich and interesting than muses.

Yeah, a well-written feature is a bigger draw than a well-written news story. I kinda liked the news box on the right hand side, though.

News for sure.

I don't really pay attention to the current happenings in the musical world. Most of my music is from 2003 or older, and I only stay up to date with a few bands (mostly just New Zealand bands/artists). So for me news is pretty pointless. That said, I'm certainly not the norm in that respect.

I find musings much more interesting. I don't think they should be the higher priority, as news probably gets more traffic than muses.

i think the muses are a more important part, allowing users to see that the site is so enthusiastic about user interaction can only be a good thing in the long run.

News is more important. I think if the site is to be taken seriously then news would be an absolute must, and take precedense (:() over anything such as journals/musings.

Regarding which is more important... well, depends.

I think News deliver a more 'professional' image IMO. Muses are fun, and most of em are very interesting to read, but well written News-bulletins seem more professional.

I think this discussion was finished and dead quite a while now. From what I see here, it should stay that way.
