How do you mount trash hats? I was thinking of 2 mini-chinas. Would it be on an x-Hat or actually on cymbal stand? BTW, I was thinking of AAX and HHX mini-chinas.

an x-hat would probly be easiest.

don't waste that much money for a "trash" sound... if that's what you're after, go cheap (wuhan!). metal on metal will always osund the same...

Yeah I use a wuhan 12" splash over 12" wuhan china. Nice and trashy. X-hat to mount for sure.

I know that I am going to get hated for this but I really don't like Wuhan sounds. I've played some from all of their lines and none of them have appealed to me particulaly.

Don't go for them then. Usually, the more crappy the cymbals= more trashy= more better= yeah. Just try out some B8's, ZXT's or something like that. You'd have to play around a bit to find the sound you want though, obviously.

I just made a sick stack that I'll be using for a while...

16" Wuhan and one of my old 13" Zildjian ZBT hats, not sure whether i want to use the bottom or top yet. I've been trying both. Brutal sound.

I imagine it's something like this, except the bottom hat would be replaced with a china.

I once had my 12" Sig splash over my 14" oriental china.

It sounded cool, but i couldnt see where i'd use it much in the music i play.

Check out Mike Portnoy of Dream Theater's set up. He has a signature set up with the way he creates his trash. I can't remember it now, but I'm not sure it's somewhere on www.mikeportnoy.com
