I was just wondering how much a to buy a Pearl "All Birch Shell" drum kit for. I believe they are from the early 90's, and yes "All Birch Shell" is the name of the line, thats all it says right on the badges... It is a 3 piece (bass, rack tom, and floor tom) in fair condition. My local pawn shop has one, and i was thinking of making an offer (they dont price things) could someone give me a range?

i have never heard of a pearl line just called "all birch"... so i dunno srry. I'd go for the newer models though but that's just me i have no idea about anything about that set.

Trust me guys, it exists, just has been discontinued, it was a not very well known pearl line in the 1980's and that is why i am having so much trouble getting information on it from online, i just thought someone here may know....

Also, from the guy that said, 350, what is this based on?

Its tough to put a price on those old drums. They were considered good in their day but since maple took over they became a secondary line. $350 is probably just a guess but I would say a good one.

Play them if you can, if they sound good and your only spending 350 than go for it.

I think they are Pearl BLX All birch... I'm having so much trouble finding a price....

i like the sound of all birch shells, my kit is a birch and i love it to death, i would test them out becasue it might not be what ure looking for

That would be the good old BLX series alright and that should give you a good idea of the price too. Keep an eye on that kit and see if anyone bids because if he gets no bids then it is overpriced.

i'm assuming the all birch would be a good set because pearl does do well in their top of the line stuff, and birch is one of the top of the line woods.

Personally, I'm not a big fan of Pearl stuff, so I tend to agree with "pearl = bah!", though he didn't give any explanation as to why, I'm sure he would if you asked.
