Hey guys...

So I have this pretty big decision to make and I'd like your advice...

I'm currently selling my Axis Pedals... Right now I have quite a few people... But 2 stand out...

The first one is from the states, 400$ USD + free shipping....

The second one is from Canada, Ontario and he's offering a handmade 700$+ custom snare with my specifications (size, depth, wood, color, hardware, plies, etc...) to trade for my pedals....

So, with the first guy, I could immediately buy my Sabian AA Tight Ride, AA 18'' Rock Crash and Wuhan 14'' Mini China + stand...

Or I could get an awesome custom made snare.... Any size, wood, color, etc I want... They sound insanely godly...

Or I could take the first guy's money, save it and get a Custom Spaun 13x5 Acrilyc snare...

I have no idea what to do... I need cymbals as much as I need a new snare... But I'm restarting work again in a few weeks (Bike Shop, seasonal) so it wouldn't be very long to get the cymbals if I do opt for the snare....

What should I do??

You could get the snare, sell it for 700, buy the cymbals, and have 300 dollars.

i would really really kinda not trust the canadian guy. i mean a 700 hundred snare thats cool, but you won't be able to play it at all. sure anything you want on it, but eh im skeptical on that. very skeptical.

now the Custom Spaun i wouldnt really go with either, thats more piccolo than anything if you ask me. id rather get the Pork Pie 13x7. that would be my suggestion on that one.

the most promising looking one is all the cymbals if its that much of an upgrade.

You could get the snare, sell it for 700, buy the cymbals, and have 300 dollars.

or that, but unless you've heard great things about this snare from others. or really trust him, i would suggset not going with that idea.

If you need a snare more than you need cymbals, then go with guy #2. Otherwise, go with guy #1.

If you do go with Mr. Canada, I would make sure to wait until you get the snare and play it before you send the pedal. If he doesn't like that, then go with guy #1.

To ensure a fair deal if you go with the snare guy, pick it up and test it in person with some really big intimidating friends.

I doubt that would be an option because if the snare isn't liked, it's sent back and this builder just wasted all that time.

I would ask if he has an internet site or somewhere you can find out/here about his work. Otherwise, it's true, you're putting a lot of trust into this guy.

What do you want first? Your cymbals, or a custom Canadian snare? If you go with the snare, you get your cymbals later, but no Spaun. If you go with the $400, you get your cymbals first and later spend on a snare...

Montreal can be really far depending on where this guy is in Ontario... Even if he was in Toronto that's like a 6+ hour drive.

Which is why cars were designed to be able to drive far for long periods of time :p

That's not my point. I wouldn't want to drive 6 or more hours from Montreal to Toronto (or wherever for that matter) and then possibly not like the snare, only have to drive back. The threadstarter may not even have a driver's liscense, therefore he would have to convince his parents or someone to drive him.

After browsing through that site, the seems legit. Only problem with going with him is, you may not like the snare and regret it, wanting a Spaun.

Hehhehe yeah same thing here.... After a few big injuries and the fact that it costs so much and it gobles up to much time made me look for something else... But I still enjoy working in the business and making movies! :thumb:

That is a great company...I'm currently getting parts for a snare from them. I would highly recommend it...they make some great stuff...

But one thing i ask is, what if the snare you choose to make isnt worth $700?
