No, .. those cymbals sound absolutley nuthing liek what your hearing. On cd's drums and cymbals are EQ'd beyond beleif, not to metion alot of aritsts use different cymbals froma all different companies in recording then they do live. Theres almost no way to get the exact sound.

bad idea, the cymbals that they say they use usually aren't and sound nothing like what you'd get out of cymbals you bought.

Your best bet is noting what you like about the sound, then going and trying lots of cymbals out till you find something similar.

thats how it starts.

then you go and try the cymbals out. check if you like the feel. the sound they make without editing/mixing etc. and if they fit your music. THEN you buy it

let's not forget the whole pro-tools factor on everything you hear on recordings these days.

Cymbal purchasing steps:
-hit it
-listen to it
- love it
-buy it
-hit it some more
-grow old with it
-never clean it
-die and be buried with it.

- somehow manage to hit it some more.

You have to ignore what your favorite players use and find what suits YOU. I know it's hard we all have the tempation to wanna go out and buy the same gear as our heros but it often won't turn out the way you plan.

What you hear on CD's recordings ect ect... Won't be what you hear in person.

If it has to do with the sounds they get on their recordings you have to keep in mind that what they list in ads are usually their live setup. Most drummers use many different drums and cymbals when recording.

If you get lucky, you'll get the sound you like, but you definately won't get the exact same sound.. the cymbals are all digitally mastered, so they don't sound the same at all.. as said before lol.
