They can sound great if they're tuned correctly, which is hard to do. If you have a chance to pick some up, go for it.

alright here ya go, acrylic drums are gonna sound MASSIVE. especially a nice big one, and they are wonderful IF you tune them right, which is very difficult, they have like 1 sweet spot, and not much to work around that spot, but if u find it, it's awsome. i suggest maybe getting a dial tuner to help u reach optimum tuning. and be careful, u still dealing with what either is or essentially is plastic. it is easy to break and to burn, so no open fires. i would also maybe recommend a trial run, just to ensure u can handle acrylic drums

My acrylic drums are very loud and have great projection. They are very hard to tune, however I cant see how having a dial would help you.

The thing about acrylics is that the head determines the sound as the shells themselves have very little tone themselves. So head choice is very important.

^i think the dial tuner would help so everything is nice and even to get optimum sound, and i think(for toms atleast) if u go old school on acrylics and use remo CS black dot heads they sound sweet
