Do people think that buying this rack is a good idea? I have a 5 piece wich is currently a 4 piece and 5 cymbals but do hope to expand more?

I never really trusted racks with cillindrical tubes
same here. I dunno. Altough I know enough people with Gibraltar racks who never had a problem but the idea of a slipping clamp just sucks. I like my curved icon (Y)

Thats what memory locks are for.

I have a rack similar to that. The round tubes really arent as bad as people think. I have a memory clamp on all of my real clamps and they dont slip. If they do, you arent tightening them enough. So if you get it, invest in memory clamps.

i have a gibraltar, and just to test it, i stood on my rack toms... they didn't slip, w/o memory locks and i'm not light... (well... yes i am).
but for a 4pc kit, a rack is kinda dumb.

Agreed,
I wish I had just stands now.
I play my 4 piece more then my 6 piece.

Don't get the rack.
Get some Taye ACS stuff instead. A floor tom cymbal arm, cymbal/snare stand, etc.

I would say get an Icon, cause I really hate the cilindrical tubes
