for example the 14" new beat hihat with the 14" traditional, medium hihat or the 20" medium zildjian ride with the 20" medium bosphorus ride... are they similar in musical styles or sound?? I mean,do they have the same quality or they are irrelative??

Ok, you never know. There are some threads here where I just smack my head :smash: :p
I'll read up and see if I can find something...

A Zildjian Series sound clips (http://www.zildjian.com/EN-US/products/default.ad2?posID=0&catalogID=1011&typeID=0&sortID=0&useID=0)
Bosphorus cymbals sound clips (http://www.bosphoruscymbals.com/hearitnow.htm)
The sound clips seem to be your best option... It doesn't really matter if you play rock and use, say, a jazz ride. As long as the cymbal suites the music (loud enough, etc.) then if you like it, why not buy it?

heh!ok!
I'm just asking beacuase i have experienced some problems in order to buy the zildjian avedis but there is a bosphorus dealer near me.. and i know they are good cymbals but i don't know if they are as good as the avedis.. I've played the new beat and i really liked it and i also have played the bosphorus gold hihat which it didn't suit my kind of play.. you know!

Well Bosphorus seems to be a great company... I don't know much about them... I'm more knowledgeable with either Sabian or Zildjian.
Have fun with the sound clips, hope you find the cymbals you're looking for ;)

The two ranges you mention are different but similar. The Bosphorus Traditional is darker sounding, and possibly more like K's than A's. It depends on what you play, and what you like. Personally, I'd say a mix of both would be great. The soundclips are probably the best way to help you decide if you can't test them in person.
Obviously if you like the New Beat hats and the Bosphorus ride, then I don't see the harm in mixing.

true
bosphorus traditional series are more like the K's.
The rides? The Bos traditional, will have less of a ping, more wash.
There are a range of what the traditional series sounds like, so it's better to play one in a store than order one. The're very hand made, so each one is pretty unique.
I have a 20" Bosphorus ride, and some 13" ferit hats. I love them. They are terrific ****ing cymbals.
The Zildjian A's will be louder, if you need more volume. However that isn't necessarily true. You might find a thick Bosphorus that could overpower an A, but it probably wouldn't be a traditional series.

Bosphorus Trads are better in my opinion but as turkey said the avedis would probly be louder
