What does overdub mean? Does it mean that they distroted it in the studio or something?

to overdub is to record seperately, and add it in.
like in a movie, if a voice is placed in the scene but it was recorded after it was shot, it is an overdubbed voice.

however, that description he gave was not very good, since when you record in a studio, everything is done seperately, except the initial scratch track that everyone records together for the instruments to individually play along to.

technically, everything done in a studio is overdubbed.

The Faint - I disappear

Awesome tone, it was done by shoving a small sheet of metal through the speaker cone, then playing as the card rattled around. Sounds awesome.
