Your band's going to the studio...
Won't the studio already have a system set up?

Logic 5.5 is pretty old. The last version made for windows I think before the company was bought out by Apple.
Logic as it is right now (version 7) is considered top class DAW software along with ProTools.
Very difficult to use and in my experience not Logical at all (ha).
So If the studio you guys are going in has Logic and somebody that is pretty adept at it will be your engineer then go for that. If it's a DIY job just go with Cubase.

cubase has more possibilities than logic. Virtual instruments are lacking but if you are in abnd you should be able to do more with Cubase.
