hi

I have been playing the guitar for nearly five years now, I have taught myself rhythm and lead and am getting quite good.

But I still need an extra boost to continue in my learning so I am going to arrange guitar lessons probably this weekend.

So bearing in mind what I said above what do you reckon I should expect from some lessons, I am asking because I want to see If lessons are totally needed.

Thanks
RM

Take some time to evaluate your playing. What do you need help with? What are you good at? Do you know much theory? I remember my old guitar teacher told me that, and he basically taught me everything that I was lacking and/or didn't know. Basically, don't have him teach you the stuff you already know, cause you're wasting money like that.

I agree.

Well I can do most of the techniques for rhythm and lead playing its really the theory and advanced improv that I will need help with.
