recording with bass

how come when i record a bass part for a song, i can bearly hear it, i practically cant hear it. how do i fix that

what program are you using and how are you putting the signal into it (whatever it is)?

im using cooleditpro2. I put one end of the cord into the line out slot and the other end in my microphone jack on my computer. i tried messing with the eq on my amp but that didnt help much

Try going directly (bass > mic in). If that doesn't solve it, try raising the input levels in Cool Edit.

i couldnt figure out how to raise the input levels on cool edit lol. but ill try it

I go directly from my bass into the soundcard on the back (the little blue one)

have you tried the sound settings in the control panel? they can somethimes be a but low?

k i tried pluggin right into my bass, didnt help, i tried adjusting the input settings and such, but when i record the bass there isnt enough bass in the sound, and the sound is still barely audible. any more suggestions?

I use my zoom 607 and it boosts it a bit (think coz it has an amp in it) this is a real puzzle

I also run my bass through an effects pedal then into the mic slot, i get the same problem as you if I run it direct.

the only effects pedal i have is for guitar and it really didnt help much. srry this is being such a hassle
