Hey, wondering if anyone can help me out with a problem I'm having with my amp. It's a Peavey KB100 (I think). Its a keyboard amp but I use it for my bass.

When I am adjusting the bass knob on equalizer the speaker crackles and if I set the bass higher than 0 the speakers continues crackling and starts making these popping/thumping sort of sounds. So I have to keep the bass level on the equalizer below zero.

Has anyone had a problem similar to this?

Sorry I can't be of more help.

I'm no expert on amps but it sounds to me like a problem with the bass pot itself not the speaker because when it is on zero is effectively bypassed.

Something like that happens with one fo the amps at my colege. when you turn down the volume, when it gets to the very last part it makes a crackling noise and sometimes make a big bang noise. its got to be something to do with that knob. Take it to your local music shop or something
