I'm sorry but this another thread asking for bass recommendations.

Anyway, I'm looking for a 5 string bass to use when playing metal/hardcore in band and I just wanted which bass you guys think would be best. I looking to spend £500 or less.

Ibanez BTB, quite cheap, and a great tone, with a beefy low end. great basses for pretty much anything.

it can be but in the UK basses tend to be more expensive than in the US. £500 won't get you a used Thumb I don't think but I could be wrong

it could do, but it would be reeeeaaallly pushing it, it would probably be pretty knackered

its probably safer to estimate 500 pounds to about 700 dollars, when it comes to actually being able to buy basses

Spector ReBop.

Alder body, maple/rosewood neck, EMG HZ pups, active preamp. Very popular basses for metal, and with good reason.
