Weird Phenomenon

Ok, i have 1 month old strings, and the intonation was WAY off. Say, a whole step off, starting from 5th fret and above.

Now, when i change them to new strings, my intonation all the way up to 12th is pretty solid, any only goes a little flat after the 15th fret.


Is this normal? As in, is the bridge (Edge pro BTW) intonated well, just the old string causes it to be off?

I've had like one string out of the six have bad intonation but I think that was on a nylon string guitar. Obviously it was the strings if you didn't change anything and the strings were similar (same gauge).

Maybe the little elves that live under your bed came out and fixed your guitar during the night.

That is normal, as strings get older the intonation generally gets worse. That's why you should never intonate the guitar when it has old strings on it.

I think it may be common because I had the same problem last night. Evertime I would do your mom, the pitch was TOTALLY different then the last time. So I was able to rectify the situation by sticking a couple of fingers in her rectum. After that the pitch was dead on.
