Finally.
Choose the best entry. Turn out was rough, but don't get your hopes up. I'm gonna run it again this next month and hopefully get a bigger turnout. We'll make a new thread shortly to Discuss this months winner's and next months ideas.
Thanks for participating and helping to keep this thing alive.

the 12/8 one was the only thing that even remotely resembled a blues song.

I thought the theme was BLUES? :S There's only one track that's bluesy. Now I'm confused, should I vote for the one I think is best musically or the one that stuck to the theme?

OK, I just started the listening session. Listening to Last Stand now. The intro slays the intro of my contribution. The song itself is better, but maybe mine is bluesier. Still, Last Stand is great, what a guitar solo. Musicianship, period.

Next song is Always On My Mind. Very real sounding. I like the atmosphere. The rhythms also stand out. The style of this one differs quite greatly from the previous one, but both have their moments.

I listened to my own tune after listening to the other to, and it sounded a little bit like a machine, which isn't neccessarily a good thing.

I'm gonna vote now.

EDIT: In my opinion you should vote for the best song. That's me. I might send signals about violating the rules, but... can't help it.

So, who DID you vote for? Cos you said the better song was The Last Stand, but made out you were voting for yourself...

I've voted but Moogoogaipan makes it seem like he doesn't want us expressing views here until the "after show party"...heh...so I'll keep it under my hat for now, yeah?

Shame about the turnout on this one, but hey, not like I can talk.

Daddy/Ben, what do you use for your sound production?

Bump
It'd be nice for more than 9 votes in this thing, 3 of which are probably the entrant's

I agree. But the enthusiasm for February's competition was low. I think it's time to focus on the next one, and make it better. Still, a few extra voters on this one woulnd't hurt anybody.

I think we are too far into March to have one. Though perhaps not.
I still want to do this competition thing though... so perhaps have an April comp, but start it now and have the deadline the end of April to allow for some planning and recording and whatnot.
You guys decide... it's a democracy.

That sounds like a good idea, really, as people will have more time. Which again hopefully will imply more competitors.
