I was vaguely familiar with Simon's music, mostly tracks like "50 Ways to Leave Your Lover" because Steve Gadd's groove on that one is very famous in the drumming world, but I recently decided to check out Paul in more depth as an artist and WOW! He rocks! I'm listening to "Rhythm of the Saints" at the moment, and am definitely digging it. It's alot more..."musical" than I expected. There's alot of world music influences in there, and some really creative songwriting. Plus, it has Gadd. :D

So...talk about Paul Simon!

He is coming to this years New Orleans Jazz Festival. Unfotunately it falls on the same weekend as Senior Trip(which I have invested $400 into) so I cant go :-/

I love Paul Simon. I prefer Simon and Garfunkel to his solo career but he just makes great music. I highly recommend Graceland if you want more of his "world music" stuff. Actually even people who don't like world music influences should get it anyways cause it rocks.

I think Paul Simon is one of the best songwriters ever. He gets really underrated but I love his lyrics, very clever.

And Simon and Garfunkel are just ridiculously good.

I've only got Graceland, but I love it. I prefer Simona and Garfunkle, mainly because of their increadible harmonies. Their voices are two of the best ever.

I like Simon & Garfunkel's cover of Nevermore's "Sound of Silence".

Joke or not? Debate rages in the CR thread. More at 11.

Simon and Garfunkel butchered that song, they should've just left it alone.

Yeah, it's a bit boring the first time I heard it, but then it grew on me.

They sound like faggots. I just can't stand their annoying voices. No melodie either.

Graceland may be the best album ever made.

I love how half the people in this thread are being sarcastic and making fun of the other half, and the other half agree. The internet sucks for sarcasm usually.

Yeah, I like Paul Simon, I listened to Graceland in my stepmom's car, it was really good.

I'm really confused, did they even do a cover of a Nevermore song? Are people making fun of Simon and Garfunkle or Nevermore? I don't get it.

People are making fun of the guy who said he like Simon & Garfunkle's cover of a Nevermore song.

I like Paul Simon, but I really dig Simon & Garfunkel. My sister introduced me to them when I was about thirteen, and I've been a huge fan for the last three or so years. Beautiful melodies and lyrics, especially The Only Living Boy In New York.

I'm fairly certain that that guy was also joking.

I hope.

i grew up listening to Paul Simon, then for a few years i didn't listen to him. i just got his Greatest Hits album for my mum for christmas, and ripped it to my laptop again, it's such great stuff.
Rhythm of the Saints was an awesome album, we've got all his albums on cassettes, but only his Greatest Hits on cd :-/ need to collect them all again i think.
