Is any one else going? Its Memorial Day weekend at the Gorge in Washington. I just bought my three day pass today and I'm very excited, I'm not sure what bands I'll be seeing yet because I don't think they have released the time schedule and stuff. Maybe they did but meh.
Anyway the line up is pretty good on friday we have (one stage):
Nine Inch Nails, Special Guest - to be announced, HIM, ...And You Will Know Us By The Trail Of Dead, Wolfmother
My plans right now are to go see NIN, Wolfmother and Trail of Dead. I'm pretty sure I'm going to skip HIM, I might watch a song or two then go do something else. I'm not sure who the Special Guest is, there are rumors of Tool (who are in Europe I guess), a Pumpkins reunion (this is happening at Lolla I guess) and AIC reunion (I doubt that). I'll probably see the special guest no matter what also.

Saturday has a more indie line-up:
Mainstage: BEN HARPER & The Innocent Criminals, The Flaming Lips, The Shins, The Tragically Hip, Neko Case, Iron & Wine, Sufjan Stevens, Gomez, Rogue Wave Wookie: Sam Roberts, Constantines, Architecture In Helsinki, Bedouin Soundclash, Matt Costa, The Brunettes Yeti: Tim Seely, Korby Lenker, Common Market, more artists to be announced
My plans are to see the Flaming Lips, the Shins, Gomez and Rogue Wave. I'll probably just move around because most of those bands I don't know or don't like.

And Sunday is the day I really like:
Mainstage: Beck, Death Cab For Cutie, Queens of the Stone Age, Matisyahu, The Decemberists, Nada Surf, Pretty Girls Make Graves, Blue Scholars Wookie: Clap Your Hands Say Yeah, Arctic Monkeys, We Are Scientists, Chad Vangaalen, The Heavenly States Yeti: Rocky Votolato, Laura Veirs, Mercir, The Village Green, Headphones more artists to be announced
I'll try and see Beck, QOTSA, Matisyahu, Nada Surf, Arctic Monekys and I just bought albums from Pretty Girls Make Graves and We Are Scientists so I might see them.

Anyway I'm just excited to see QOTSA who are probably the only reason I am really going. I don't like the rest of the line-up. I won't miss Matisyahu or NIN either.

I'll probably hit up day 2-3 for sure to see Decemberists, Flaming Lips, Queens of the Stone Age, and both Nada Surf, Clap Your Hands Say Yeah!!! will have my attention

its pretty light compared to years past...but there's still lots of time for those suprise acts to annouce their presence... Beck headlining the last day is suspect in these eyes...

plus all the minor bands are tempting and i wouldn't shell out the cash to see em seperate....yet... :)

That's pretty solid line up..

Trail of Dead
NIN
QoTSA
Beck

A bunch of great festival bands, that just rock. I think it's the best line-up I've seen for this festival season.

Omg that's one of the best line-ups I could hope for, it's got pretty much everything! I wouldn't know what to do with myself. I wish we had festivals that good in Aus...

Its cheapish too. 55 dollars a day but the camping is 40 bucks.

If anyone has gone before I heard that they don't let you leave once you enter? Can anyone confirm this? This is my first big festy so I'm a giant "noob."

you've heard the truth...they wont let you go out unless your willing to pay somehting like 12-15 bux to get back in... just bring lots of water(will be hot hot hot), and everything else in a backpack... last yr they let us take in countless bottles of water, blankets, backpacks, lounge chairs, etc... just make sure you have everthing you'll need for the day... oh and dont drink out of open containers when you go through the gate. they will make you toss em, or chug...

A few of my friends plan on staying at a hotel in the nearest town, so does that mean they will have to pay, I'm planing on going to the hotel at least once during the weekend to take a shower and just see if I can get some actual sleep, I have a feeling I won't get a lot of sleep.

And this is awful, um childish of me to ask but how well do they police drugs? I heard mixed things, that they are very strict and then from another person I heard that people openly smoke and no one minds.

Tell me what you think of Wolfmother, also, really jealous of the line-up. Just, really jealous.

:chug: Yeah you will get a chance to go back to your hotel room at the end of each night...If you get the 3 day pass your set..your friends may have to pay multiple times if they dont get the pass... there are random pat downs at the gates... personally i look like someone they would pat down 20ish, Male Shaggy longish hair... but i got by with as little as show us whats in your backpack(expected), i got stuff in to say the least:p. as for interior security.. its Washington so youll find the rough tough redneck who has something to prove but for the most part they are out there to help...it will be 90 degrees if not warmer so they have to worry more about dehydrations than anything else... be descrete and youll be fine...

This is a pretty good lineup, but Lollapalooza is the only one I'm really excited about. Nine Inch Nails is the only thing about this that would really sway me towards it, and I'm seeing them in June anyway.
