ok well i finally got some new strings (ernie ball hybrid slinkys), but now pretty much all four strings buzz on the first fret. it wasn't that bad before i had changed the strings... i adjusted the truss rod a bit, and it lessened the buzz, but the strings were like a cm away from the higher frets. so i readjusted it a little bit, and the strings are a bit closer, and the buzz a bit better... but still not as good as it could be. anything i can do?
edit-
oh and is there any reason that my strings would snap like right on the saddle? it happened to my D a while ago, and now my E... i don't really play close to the bridge, and don't play that hard most of the time

did you adjust the bridge saddle too? or just the truss rod?

i had adjusted the saddle a bit, but only to raise the E from the pickup, because it gets so much low end... i'd drop the pickup but somehow the screw was stripped... i hadn't even even done anything, so idk why its stripped

If they are a different gauge then the ones before, sometime, it can cause the neck to bough a certain way, so you may want to get it set up, unless you think you can do it yourself

i'd say, adjust the truss rod a bit more (loosen it to add relief) and let it stabalize for about another hour or so, then string it up and mess with the saddles a bit if it's not fixed yet. also, are you changing guages? your nut might be notched for thicker strings and now with lighter strings, they sit too low in the nut and are too close to the first few frets.

also, when i was putting on the new strings... i shouldn't just tighten em right up, right? the D was hard to get in tune, i was scared it would snap... i figured tighten it up a bit, then wait like 5 minutes and tighten again, to let it strecth out and all

yeah, get all the strings just a little tight, then tune them all.
