Pretty good track. The drums were a bit off, but nothing that extra practice and time doesn't really fix. :)
The guitar work is awesome.

That was awsome! I love the hardcore+melodicness of it. 1:30 is my favorite part, and the drumming is really cool.
Edit: The guitar leads are awsome too...

Are you signed to a label or is it an Independent release? Also, were will it be released?

It will most likely be distributed by Rockfood or Violent Society (They have Freaks Union, Two Shot Blast on them and stuff), but i will also be doing alot of the distributing. You will be able to buy it from most of the good music shops around Leicestershire and the East Midlands, but if you want it outside of their just talk to me and i'll send you one.

Im guessing thats in the UK. I live in New York so that may be a bit of a problem.
That would be cool if you can send me the album. I could spread the word here in the states for you.

Im probably going to upload it and give it to most of MX for free anyway ha.
We can sell it cheap because we recorded it using Logic Pro in my drummers bedroom, as he runs his own studio.

Its only an EP i'm afraid, we havent been together for very long, its the first band i've been in that i'm very serious about, probably because its all written by me and i sing it ha.
And probably 5 songs, but as you heard from that they are quite long (all in excess of 5 minutes anyway).

Releasing an EP is still nice. For a band that hasn't been around that long, you guys are pretty good.

I meant newer hardcore punk. You brits have different names for things. The fact that you solo means nothing in terms of genre though.

Yah i guess. Well, the thing with our music is that i didn't want to whine, and i certainly didn't want to mute everything and try and be At The Gates even though we are obviously not.
So we found a happy medium that involved making respectable melodic hardcore :) ha

It's quite nice, and I'd imagine (even though I've only heard one song) that it stray away from the normal monotony that hardcore sometimes has...

So yeh, i will post more when we finish it.

It's not the kind of music that I would usually listen to, but its a quite different take on hardcore styled music, so I definitely give you props on that.
Have you ever thought about harmonizing some of those guitar leads? I think IMO that would sound cool.
Arucard
03-04-2006, 01:34 PM
The problem is is that most of them aren't straight up guitar leads, like the one in the chorus, so it sounds messy if they are harmonised.
The breakdown bit is harmonised, and we have alot of harmonisation in other, slightly faster songs.
I was thinking more of that the lead that starts around 4:14, after the solo, IMO it could use a thick harmony. You probably shouldn't listen to me, though, because I'm sure everyone else will disagree, and I'm a bit of an idiot about that kind of stuff.

I like it a lot - I'd like it even more if there were more screamed vocals, but I know first-hand how hard screaming is. I can't for the life of me scream decently.
Oh, and the production is pretty lame, but great for a home recording.

Well good news on that front, i can't scream but we are recruiting a new bassist because we are going to tour in the Summer, and one of the requirments is the ability to do harsh vocals.
Huzzah!
