Okay, I have about $30 to spend on gear. Should I get a pair of vic firth jazz brushes first, or should i buy a cowbell?

Okay. I dont normally play jazz, but im more inclined to funk and rock. But i would like to try jazz.

Cowbell seems like it would suit you more now. Worry about brushes after you've experimented with the jazz grooves a while.
