I'm a newbie to industrial. KMFDMs 'Angst' and Ministrys 'Psalm 69' are the only two albums i know in regards to industrial. I love that ****, what's some great industrial music around?

The Kovenant are industrial metal, and Fear Factory too... though i don't like FF that much. i prefer Ministry.

if you consider Rammsteins industrial, the sehnsucht album is very good.

Skinny Puppy, old NIN pre Fragile, Manson

Skinny Puppy is industrial, not industrial-metal
NIN the same and tends more to pop, synth, rock, ...
Manson has nothing in common with industrial

notice his post actually goes

''what's some great industrial music around?''

regardless of thread title

Also Manson is industrial according to source

Godflesh are horribly underrated. Look into them. Anything is good. Also Fear Factory Concrete-era is another good example. I've heard Skinny Puppy is great, but I don't know anything they do.

Good industrial is mostly an oxymoron, but old Fear Factory is good, and old NIN. The first Rammstien is the only good album they have. That's about it for tolerable industrial.

Fear Factory was an ingenius concept in the very begginning, before they become overly repetitive and uncreative. After Concrete, they began to sound like one of the FF rip off bands. Then they destroyed the iota of credibility they regained with Archetype with that new crap. They are awesome live but other than that I have to say they are done forever.

No, it's just old. When I first joined mx, i had just gotten into Atreyu and Breaking benjamin. So I was like on this whole big kick for a while. It died off when I discovered bands like Behemoth, Immolation, etc.

If you are refering to rammstien, the live album is horrible, the second was alright, and the new one is a little too slow for me. There was another one I think but i havent heard it.

KMFDM, Dir En Grey (kinda Visual Kei but argueable), Fear Factory, Mushroomhead, Spineshank, (old) Taproot, Pitchshifter, (new) In Flames... a few others slip my mind, but those are my favorites...

The Pain Machinery!! not industrial metal, more like industrial/noise...i urge everyone to check out The Venom is Going Global by TPM..the new album is pretty good too, Hostile, but i've only listened to it a few times now so i'm not sure how much i really like it right now

Suicide Commandos is also pretty good for old schoolish industrial

They're quite good from what I've heard, and are alright live too.

Rammstein sound a lot like KMFDM i've noticed in one song, Move On, mainly due to the guitars. Does anyone else get that comparison?

I used to be a fan of Raamstein back when Sehnsucht was new, but they just don't work for me as well as they used to now i've grown into other bands. You can tell there is something of a difference in sound between pop-influenced industrial and pure industrial, i'm not discrediting either though cause i come from both schools.

Checking out skinny puppy right now :chug:

Atreyu Breaking Benjamin, your name consists of the names of two of the worst bands in existance, shut up about how bad the genre is.

Have you ever heard Soundtrack To Your Escape? That is definately partly industrial, examples: Quiet Place, My Sweet Shadow, Borders And Shading, songs on other albums that are industrial: Your Bedtime Story Is Scaring Everyone, Free Fall, Leeches etc.

As for Taproot I specifically said old Taproot, where I specified new In Flames too... anyhow, ever heard the song Mentobe? Comeback? Impact? One Night Stand?

You don't know what you are talking about, be quiet.

Listen here, insolent swine. Keyboards and piano do not make industrial. In flames is nowhere near industrial even in part, old or new, so dont be throwing insults if you dont know what you are talking about.

Taproot is nu-metal not industrial. There is a difference in the way electronics are used in the two genres.

Metal-Archives has them penciled in as Industrial Death Metal, and I can agree with that. However, for the most part I don't actually know much about Industrial music, so I'm probably not the best person to ask. Glad you like Nihil though, it's an awesome song. One of my recent favourites.

I'm only an industrial n00b myself. Nihil doesn't sound particularly industrial reflecting on it, mainly the verse bits get that idea for me. Got to listen to more of their songs. Compared to Ministry, KMFDM or Skinny Puppy its heaps different theres a far less electronica sounding element.

I could point out exactly how wrong you are, but other people have done that, I just want to tell you that Peccatum is progressive metal with electronic elements, same with the Garm-era Arcturus.

Industrial Metal is not a big genre, but a good one. You can't do better than Ministry.
