You guys know the deal, any opinions on this pack feel free to list away. Currently looking to upgrade from B8 and B8 Pros and I saw this pack but never heard of AA Metal-X however I do know a lot of people recommend the AA so some feedback on these would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Take care

AAmetalX are like the Z customs but from sabian. They arent too good. THey ring out too much and are sorta dead. If you want a good crash pack get teh AAXplosion crash pack. Which is 16 and 18 inch AAXplosion crashes, Vicfirth sticks and a sabian cymbal bag. If you want a pack with hihats and a ride in it i would suggest the AA Pack with the AA regular hats, AAmedium ride and AA medium crash. It would probably be better to buy all cymbals seperately because you get more of what you want instead of getting stuck with whats in the pack.

I'm confused..how does something ring out to much, yet is too dead?

dead sounding. its not really any musical sound to it. Too one dimensional.

ive got the metal-x high hats, and i really enjoy using them. i feel they have a really nice sizzle. i've tried out the ride, but i wouldnt suggest getting it, i dont remember how it sounded but i just remember not digging it. i havent tried any crashes yet.

however i think you should try it out for yourself. it might be for you, it might not. just test em out n see if you like it, thats all i can say.

i would definatly go with an AA or AAX pack, i own an 18'' AA Metal X crash, and while it isn't like awful for lots of pounding, u would probably be better off with like an AAX Stage or AAXplosion. and they really aren't that versitle, u buy it, and ur playing loud music. period. u no longer have a choice as to what ur playing

They are better than Z Customs- I have a 20" CHina and its great, I used to have a 17" Crash, it was ok, but it broke very quickly and didn't sound very good.

No they don't. You can't label a whole set to break easily when you have only had experiences with the china... I have a Metal-X crash and it hasn't cracked.

I reccomend going to www.sabian.com (http://www.sabian.com) and using their Sound Check to see wether or not you like the cymbals. Frankly I wish I could replace my crash as it is... Like many have said, they are not very versitile. If the only thing that you play is metal, then you should be fine. Otherwise, look into other AA and/or AAX sounds.

Go for AAX. Their versitile and they sound great.

I bought the Metal-X pack when i got my new kit. Heres what I think ( i play metal mind you)

The hats are pretty good, but don't try and play them open, they sound like crap, they can withstand a beating.
The crash is really loud, cuts nicely, pretty damn good.
The ride is pretty good also, GREAT bell, it rings a lot, but you won't notice playing live or with your band, tape will fix this problem.

All and all i would recommend buying them, they all cut through great, you will eventually replace parts of them or add to them, but they are are VERY durable.

I bought them, but am going to replace them eventually with AAX's
