I got an offer to buy a Marshall head for $150 I don't know what model or what condition it is in yet, but if it's in good condition and everything should I get it? Also, can just the head work for now or do I NEED a stack to play with it?

my guess is it will be a mg series head, but if your lucky it might not be. Anyway, you will need a cab to run with the head.

So would it be better just to by and amp for like $400? Instead of pay $150 for the head and atleast $200 for the cab?

I'd save up abit more money and buy a nice tube combo, something to get those hi-gain tones that i assume you want.

No, you definitely can not use it without a cab, if you turn it on without it plugged into anything, you'll destroy the head, so I've heard anyway.

It wont destroy it, but it will damage it.

I'm going to have to ask more about it, because I barely know anything about it.
I won't be able to find more out until atleast monday though. He said something about 1 of the legs broke? All I've seen is like pegs on them.
