Hi all!

So i have a friend who knows this guy that sells Pearl drums. I called the guy up yesterday and because he is my friends buddy he told me that he could cut me a good deal on any pearl product i buy from him, so the deal is that i get 30% off of the list price. And i need a new snare, so wich one would be better in your oppinion? Im looking for a nice snare with good crack and pop, i like to tune pretty tight!

Pearl MMX 14"x5'5"
Pearl Ultracast 14"x5'5"

Thanks DG

ludwig acrolite...lol

you can get the sound you're looking for from either of those snares...id recommend you look into the suspension snares though...with superhoops instead of cast hoops. more projection...less interferance with the tone of the drum.

edit:

30% under list is only like 5% better than most music store's prices...so i dont necessarily think you should buy a pearl snare just cause you get a slightly better price...

they're a great company but there are crackier better performance snares out there for better prices.

Well, I'd say if you're gonna buy one of them, go for the ultracast. Aluminum snares are sexy and it'll fit the description you want.
