View Full Version : My 3005

I finally have my Sonor 3005 set up just about how I like it, so I thought I'd take some pictures. I started taking lessons when I was about 10 or 11. I only stuck with them for a year then kind of went away from drumming and took up Tenor Sax. I did have an old Ludwig set, but sold it because I thought I was done with drumming. Fast foward about 5 years later (I'm 16 now) and I wanted to get back into drumming. Now for the pictures....

The XS20s came free with the set. Hopefully I can get a nice ride soon, if I get the job I applied for.

Ehh, they get the job done. The ride has an annoying amount of overtones though.

I dunno, my old set was black too. I just like it more than the other colors that were available.

That they do. One of the reasons a new ride is gonna be one of the first things I'm gonna get.

I'll look into those. I was also looking at an Earth Ride.

wow nice join the Sonor Fan Club.
Though if you're gonna pay $1200 for a set, why did you get plain black?
Did anyone think that maybe he chose the black because he liked it? ... Just a thought.

well true, its just plain black screams cheapo sets, and is also generic because everybody has black.
I love black, one of my favorite colors, but I've never been too fond of them on sets.

Awesome kit. Man, I had a dream last night that I got the sexiest Sonor 3005 kit, with new cymbals and heads and everything. And then I woke up.

Only color they had that I liked. I didn't care much for the look of the natural/stained wood. I don't really care for red or white on drum sets either. I really wanted a blue, but that wasn't available, so I went with black. In the future when I'm confident enough, I'll probably refinish it.

Good luck with that... It's a high quality lacquer, if I were you I wouldn't but it's your kit...

I dislike black because it's boring and overused. But other than that, that's a great looking drumkit! :D

Are you being sarcastic or did you think it was a wrap?
You said you liked the colour so why not keep it? No need to re-finish your kit just because some people on here don't like black... :p

I was being serious. I like the color, but blue would have been my top choice if Sonor had made any blue ones.

It came out just before Christmas '05. I would take the black over the blue though because the black shows the wood grain much better :chug:

Yeah, the more I look at the picture then at my set, the more I like the black. Musiciansfriend (where I ordered from) still dosen't have Blue sparkel listed though.
