^That's my current setup. Pretty normal. Since I'd like two floor toms but can't afford it, would it be a good idea to have a tom holder for the 2nd tom and put it flat next to the floor tom (as if it was another floor tom) and put the ride over the bass drum? (And eventually have room to put a china over the floor tom when I get around to saving up for it?)

Good idea? Bad idea?

EDIT: Don't worry, that photo was taken a while ago, I've sorted out the tom angles now

Yeah, thatd be a good idea. I know quite a few people on here do it and i have done it before in the past, so go for it.

yea thats how i have mine set up right now. i set it up that wat because i liked the feel of a 4 piece but i wanted all 3 toms. also the ride is very comfotable in the position.

I've seen some people flip the tom mount around so that the longer part reaches out and they can put that medium tom in a floor tom position... You should try that with your kit.

i did that but it pretty much ruined the mount on the bass drum. now i have half a cymbal stand holding my ride in my bass drum and the bottom part of the stand holding the tom. this also makes it easier to ajust it

you can see the tom arms coming out...

I recently bought some tom clamps to clamp the toms to a stand and had to redo my whole setup, so here it is...

No. No I didn't  Why do you have to be so hurtful :upset:

So many people on here have their set like that... I didn't even know you had yours like that. I see you bought some clamps now though, good buy :thumb:
