Nothing new, but "The Postman" just came on shuffle so I thought I would make a thread about them.

Does anyone here like them? A lot of people seemed to get turned off after a few songs, and say their music is boring and uninteresting. I'm the only AmAnSet fan I know. I like their velvety indie pop sound. I've not been fortunate enough to attend one of their shows, but I'm sure they're sweet. Anyway, this is kind of informal.

What's your opinion of them? What's your favorite album? My favorite is the one that's on right now, Know By Heart.

I fit in well with the second sentence of your second paragraph. I've only heard one of their albums because it was so mind-bogglingly boring that I never wanted to hear another.

Underwater Cinematographer is by the Most Serene Republic, and while that is just horrid as well, they aren't terribly similar.

The one I heard was Set Free and I don't even remember if I finished it.

I've only heard a couple songs but they didn't really interest me. I also got some free split EP of theirs sponsored by Tylenol or something in the mail once, the other band on it was really god awful.

I get where they're going with the 'Quiet-Is-The-New-Loud' thing or whatever, but seriously, I think they may be too sissy for their own good. Some of the songs are okay, and I liked the acoustic stuff that the lead singer recorded for the acoustic HOME split with Ben Gibbard, but a lot of it is sort of too soft-spoken and dull.

That said, sometimes it totally hits the spot. I'm never going to buy another of their CDs, but they're not dreadful to listen to.

I've heard a few of their songs, nothing that really stands out though.

I've only heard a few of their songs, you can only lsiten to them so often because they are pretty boring. Andrew Kenny did the lastest Home split with Ben Gibbard from Death Cab. Andrew Kenny's acoustic is alot better than the aas.
