Please recommend me some music...

I'm looking for something current that is in the vein of Elton John's early work (1970-1975). Or just anything that has a bluesy feel to it. I just haven't found any recent artists that really fits any of these. Any help is appreciated.

Both have toured with Elton in the last year or so and are extremely highly regarded. James Blunt really isn't my thing, but Rufus is pretty much the best thing that's ever happened to music. The songs on his myspace aren't my favourites, but it's worth a listen- Cigarettes & Chocolate Milk is the best of the picks there.

I agree James Blunts not like Elton John, only thing that springs to mind is Jamie Cullum, but that's more jazzy than anything.

He makes some quite cool music if you ca get past the fact that he's extremely irritating. He did a cover of The Cures 'Lovecats' with Katie Melua, it's really good.

Maybe Sondre Lerche? Actually kinda not, although Lerche does have a kinda classy pop thing going on that might match up a little.
