I don't know if anyone remembers (or cares) about Best Buy selling instruments. More specifically the one by The Galleria on Tyler. But yeah, apparently we signed a deal with Grestch, Fender, Ovation, Takamine and Possibly Paul Reed Smith. We're still going to get in more Paiste models and apparently we're still talking to Zildjian. If anybody lives near there... I'll be glad to abuse my discount to get you what you need.

i'm sure it's bottom of the line everything though. in fact i'd be willing to bet money on the fact that if they even do sell any of those brands they're lower model products. at least as far as the drum companies go.

i don't no much about guitars, but i hear even the low end models of PRS are pretty good.

I like Wal-Mart, but then again, I've never had to relocate because they came in & put one right on top or beside me either

It's not that they make people relocate so that they can have their store there, it's that they drive the business out of towns. They come in and obliterate all of the good old self-reliant suburban towns.
All of the small businesses die. People end up either having to move, or settle for a $3/hr job pushing carts at Wally World so they can eat.
And lets not forget that the richest people in the whole wide world are the Waltons, but the people that make the clothes so that the Waltons can get so rich only get payed $.50 a week.

to be serious, if they get any good paistes/sabian(maybe if they get new beats too) i would use my $20 gift card for them, but i probably wont.

wow, i'm amazed this many people live near me. I'm like 10 minutes from the galleria down la sierra.

on subject, I went into that best buy and the selection of drum stuff was a freaking joke. I saw remo heads.. and uhh.. thats it i think. they had a kit in the "jam room" which was pretty beat up from everyone playing on it.

I didn't check prices on anything i was actually quite disturbed by it all.

Some of that is debateable(sp?). Sure, grocery stores don't stand much of a chance when the "Gorilla of the Corporate World" known as Wal-Mart can offer groceries at a lower price. But there are a lot of businesses that actually like being located near a Wal-Mart.

Wal-Mart is also not a convenient place to shop. Let's face it, if you need just one little item you're more than likely not going to go to Wal-Mart and wander around their huge-*** store for it. You will go somewhere smaller and more convenient. Wal-Mart is what's known as a "destination" shopping place, meaning people go there planning to spend a good bit of time shopping. It's just not made for people who only need a few items and need to get in and out quickly.

They're still the anti-christ though:thumb:

No worries, soon they will canabalize their own business. You can't compete with yourself in the corporate world and expect to make money.....

Asda is the pits in the UK from what ive heard. But apparently Lidl and Aldi are even worse.

Walmart owns Asda, Asda is crap.

Sainsburys and Tescos are the best.

Theyre all seperate companies trying to own the UK supermarket chain.

Apparently every £5 out of every £100 speant in the UK is at Tesco

The walmart company doesn't make anything.

Anyways, as the richest and most evil company in the world, let's hope that the next president that walmart buys isn't an asshat.

Janeway
03-03-2006, 02:16 PM
The company it's self doesn't.
People who make the things that supply wal-mart do.
All of the off brand stuff in there is made by them.

... Why? A cymbal is a cymbal doesn't matter where you buy it from.
True, but people bitch and complain because there aren't any good music stores left. It's not because they don't want to have a good shop, it's because they can't keep up with these giant music outlets like GC and Sam Ash. Going to Best Buy would just further drive them down.

That and...have you been in a best buy lately?
Everything there is trashed from idiots running around smearing poop on everything they see.

Yeah, it is horrible, unless you play guitar. (Although amp selection sucks.) The only reason why they even put drums in there was because customers wanted a drumset in there. So they grabbed a Silvertone POS set and yeah. Well, hopefully we'll get some real drums in there soon. And hopefully we'll get more sticks in there. We only have a handful of sticks from Vic Firth and Pro-Mark.
