How the hell do you mount those things? I really have no idea. I was thinking of getting one as well as a AA Rocktagon crash and a HHX O-Zone crash. So can u give me a hand cos i am lost with those things.

Don't you just put the china ontop of the splash, uninverted?

Yup. Although that never made sense to me.

Why not? It's a stack, you wouldn't get much contact with the china upside down...
If you have enough room on your stand you just place the splash followed by the china upside up.

Yeah but if you turn the china upside down and put the splash in the recess it's flatter and gets exactly the same sound.

If you look at the picture, you can see that the china and splash have a large amount of contact space, as opposed to upside down where only the bells and edge of the china would touch. Obviously, the cymbals stacked like this is what was intended.

Exactly! Thats all ya gotta do.
Max Stax's are the biggest rip off in drums, you can get the same tones for 30-40 bucks. It's just metal on metal trashy white noise.

Does it damage the cymbals?

Does it damage the cymbals?
Like you mean the china being upside down or the cymbals hitting against eachother?
LoneStarDrummer
03-01-2006, 11:43 PM
Does it damage the cymbals?
unlikely. the cymbals are basically just rubbing and slightly vibrating on one another. they're not really hitting each other so there really isn't anyway for them to get damaged, just some minute scrathes and label wear.
Pleaseme

Nothing worse than hi-hats rubbing etc. But I agree, buy cheaper stuff for the same noise.

I don't think you quite understood what I meant.
I think I'll make a couple of stacks using Staggs. What sizes splash and china would work best?

A splash is vibrating on top of a china, and alot of cymbal is touching cymbal isn't it harmful?

I wouldn't think so, like whoever said before, it's like hi hats.

THEY ARE A RIPOFF.
THEY SOUND TERRIBLE.
If you really want this noise, do what the above mentioned.

Parradiddle Pete
03-05-2006, 07:43 AM
No, you listen out for a sound which could almost be a tiny pair of hi hats on half-open. They sound great. You'll know which they are when you hear them

What should be bigger the china or the other cymbal, when I made one(12'' wuhan 10'' b8 or 12'' b8) the splash was as big as the inside of the china meaning that I hit the flange of the china.
Is this right?
