I bring to you another great movie many of you will never bother to see.
This one is abotu a kid suffering from A.D.L and his parents who struggle to find the cure. Going against the odds and popular scientific protocol, the father, played by Nick Nolte, discovers what is neccesary to supress the creation of the fats which are causing the dissease.
Based on true facts, Lorenzo's Oil, is an archive of what the power of faith and proper empiricism can create.
I recommend the movie to anyone.

There's a sequel that came out in 2003 called Bush's Oil. It's about a war in Iraq.

If I remember correctly, there was a level in an Earthworm Jim game that was called "Lorenzo's Soil." That always made me wonder what this movie was about. I'll probably try to see it someday.

seen it in ap bio
I was gonna suggest to my bio. teacher to show it. He's always going on about how empiricism can make wonderous things happen, and how we should be excited. To be honest his speeches never got me anywhere near as excited and wanting to do stuff like this movie. It would surely be more effective.

I watched this in my regular bio class (eat it, Eggo). I don't remember too much about it, can't say I was too impressed with it when I did remember. But, I don't know anymore.

I watched it in TAKS Science last semester. I was skeptical about seeing it,but I loved if afterwards.
I also recommend this movie to anyone.

I saw it when I was littler, and hated it. Maybe I'd like it now, but I'm not going to go out of my way to find out.

I thought it got too sappy and dramatic. But it was a good movie. Funny thing is that while the movie ended on a good note, they failed to mention that the son died soon after they found the oleic acid treatment, and the mother died of diseases induced by stress.

I saw it not long ago, it was good. Even though the father wasn't scientifically schooled, it took him far too long to realize it was just one enzyme that did those 2 things it did.
The rest of his research, especially starting from zero knowledge, was a pretty good effort.
I thought at the end it said Lorenzo survived and was improving.

I've seen it like 7 times; it's always on at like 1.30am on a Sunday night/Monday morning.

Yeah, but he was like, 14 and still really messed up. Dude's brain will probably never be right.
