I've completed practically all the games I have for it, and there aren't many games coming out on it anymore, so why not?

I have a DS, but games take forever to be released on it, so why not?

Depending on how much I get for all my Gamecube stuff (I'll keep a few games to play on Revolution), I'd like to get the Giga Pack, if possible, and Burnout Legends.

Any other games you guys recommend I buy if I can afford them?

I wouldn't get a PSP, mainly because of the LCD could break, and in order for it to not break, you'd need the protective shell and carry it around in that.

No good PSP-only games. Most of the system's great games are just ports.

I've got a PSP, and I can tell you first-hand that they're a beautiful, beautiful thing when run with the right game. Guilty Gear X2 happens to be one of my all-time favorite games ever created, and I got it for my PSP. It was...the most beautiful handheld title I've ever seen, and it's by-far the best handheld title that I've ever played. It's pretty far out there though, so it's not for everyone.

If you're going to buy the PSP, there are certainly a lot of interesting titles scheduled for release on it this year, so tha'ts definetly something to look forward to. But be warned: Sony tries to get you for money at EVERY TURN! Seriously man, the PSP is ten times worse than the ipod as far as useless crap goes. And just remember, if you ever wanna watch movies on the thing, you'd better be prepared to either start shelling out funds for Sony-brand UMD videos, or start seriously pinching your pennies, because it's going to run you around $100 bucks for ONE GIGABYTE of memory. God help you if you want two, they cost around $300. And unless you're willing to mutate your PSP into a mechanical monstrosity, there isn't anything much cheaper on the market.

Sure, there aren't a great deal of amazing games on the PSP just yet, but there are 26 games coming out next month, including Megaman Powered Up and Outrun 2006: Coast to Coast.

There's barely 2 games coming out per month on the GC, plus none of the shops here really sells GC games anymore as no one buys them. :p

As for expensive memory sticks, the official Sony ones suck. Sandisk ftw! :thumb:

And games... I'll probably get Pro Evo 5 (Winning Eleven 9) or something.

GC has Rampage, Okami and Twilight Princess coming out for it at some point, but to each their own. Also, Megaman is better on other systems.

psp is going to have worms on it, nuff said. Ds will also have worms but on the smaller screen it won't be near as good, plus the joystick makes it much easier to move around faster. And yes i know you can use the touch screen to move around but then your screen gets all dirty so you have to wipe it off which ends up screwing up whatever your doing unless you shut your system down. Thats one of the nice things about the psp, the hold button, you can pause your game and switch it to hold mode then slip it in your pocket with no worry of dying, losing, etc. I had a ds and psp but i sold the ds cause there aren't any good games really, and owning a system that has a game as gay as nintendogs is just not cool. Get a psp.

Ok:
1. You thought it would be a good idea to use your fat, greasy fingers on a touchscreen.
2. You're insecure about owning a handheld which has a virtual pet game on it.
3. Your original comment about why the PSP was better was based on one currently unreleased game- which you said will be on both handhelds anyway.
4. You talk about one having better games than the other, but that's all opinion and you give no examples anyway (except worms, which you say is coming out on both).
5. You say one of the reasons the PSP is better is because you can pause it (hold button is a fancy way of saying pause).

psp has many other great games too, such as starwars battlefront, twisted metal, grand theft auto:lcs, james bond(coming soon), splinter cell, and many other great games.

If I want to watch a movie on the go I'll get a portable player with a bigger screen and a battery that won't die half-way through the movie.

If I wanted to do all those things I would buy a Palm Pilot which is capable of all those and far more. Or even better yet Microsoft's Origami when that comes out.

Ever heard of Play-Yan? It was a 3rd party piece of hardware that allowed MP3 music and MP4 video playback on the GBA. There is similar hardware available for the DS, that allows you to stream multimedia content directly from compact flash cards. And, yes it's illegal, but you can also run ROMs off it too. But ya know, that's wrong and naughty and all that pap.

In either case, I wouldn't bother. It's a gaming system. If I wanna watch DVD's, I'll be sociable, grab a mate and a beer and watch it on the big screen. If I wanna listen to music on the move, I'll get an MP3 player that will hold way more songs. That's just preference though, so *shrugs*

Regarding the touch screen on the DS...no-one...anywhere...ever, should ever want to play a game with their finger lol how would they see the game? It's not really a legitimate criticism of the DS that certain users choose to use it incorrectly. Besides there's a thumb stylus included if you don't want to use the pen. And if you just don't like using the touch screen, most games can be played without.

The hold button, is basically the same as closing the lid on the DS (which also has the added benefit of protecting it from all the crap that's likely to be in your average pocket).

No good games? Granted, I'm sure when you first got it games were thin on the ground, but it's early days. Besides, the games you listed on the PSP, are IMO, likely to be second rate or "little brother" versions of the real thing. Why would I wanna play BattleFront on a PSP when I can whack it on the XBox and play it how it's meant to be with no functionality or effects stripped from the game? I dunno, I'm not being a Nintendo fan boy here - I haven't even had a DS for very long, and I'd quite like to own a PSP at some point when they're cheaper to buy, just for the sake of it. I just prefer Nintendo's whole approach to the thing. They've made something different that presents alot of new opportunities to game developers, as opposed to something that's just trying to be a smaller version of something we've all seen already, and isn't likely to yield much more than "mini" versions of games that play and look better on the big screen. Plus DS has Advance Wars: Dual Strike. Which is actually stealing my life away from me. Ah well. It wasn't very good in the first place ;)

But hey, just my opinion. I'd actually agree that trading in your GC for something else is a good idea - I was quite let down by it. I'm just not so sure I'd plough that money into a PSP is all.

As for the PSP, it's a great machine. I bought Pro Evolution Soccer 5 and Tony Hawk's Underground 2 Remix today and I'm thoroughly impressed. They're practically the same as the PS2 versions.

If you consider the age group of 12-15-years old a valid target market, then sure it's popular. For people that enjoy real video games though, TH is a crap series.
